Discover the world of mahjong! Many Dutch people have the classic game in their cupboard, but who really knows all the rules? And what about those mysterious sticks? Mahjong has many variants. Perhaps you know the Japanese riichi variant from anime movies, in which patience and avoiding loss are crucial. Or maybe you’ve ever seen people in China playing the fast-paced, combination-oriented Hong Kong variant on the streets. Chinese Mahjong Competition Rules (MCR) requires strategic thinking and a touch of opportunism. Of course, there is the online variant where you have to find pairs, but we’re going to leave that online nicely on this afternoon. After all, we have some great games ahead of us. What are we going to do? Play! Especially play. We will focus on MCR, if there is a lot of interest we will also organize a meeting around riichi.
