From July 26th to August 9th, we will travel with a group of table tennis talents to a table tennis academy in Shanghai under the guidance of Bettine Vriesekoop, two-time European table tennis champion. Silk Mandarin, a language school in Shanghai led by a Dutchman, will facilitate everything on site, and VNC (Netherlands China Association) supports this unique trip. A maximum of 30 people can participate. The purpose of the trip is to practice with Chinese training methods to play table tennis at a top level and to learn about the rich Chinese culture.
On March 3rd last, there was another meeting about the table tennis trip to Shanghai. Bettine talked about her recent visit to Shanghai and the amazing training facilities there. The consulate in Shanghai is also involved in this trip and will receive the group this summer. There are already enough registrations, so the trip is definitely happening. The trip is intended for young table tennis players who want to improve their skills. Older players are also welcome, provided there is space.
