The Netherlands China Association (VNC) is looking for an ambitious and creative communication intern to shape the run-up to our 50th anniversary in 2027.<\/p>\n

For almost 50 years, VNC has been striving to bring China closer to the Netherlands by creating an informed dialogue about:<\/p>\n

  • Culture & Society,<\/li>\n
  • Business & Economy,<\/li>\n
  • Education and Science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


    <\/p>

    At a time when discussions on China are often polarized, VNC aims to strengthen its role as a realistic, engaged and independent platform for knowledge exchange and dialogue.<\/p>\n

    To support this ambition, we are looking for a student who wants to help us significantly increase our visibility, reach and relevance \u2014 especially among younger audiences.<\/p>\n

    What will you be working on?<\/b><\/h3>\n

    You will help shape and execute a communication and content strategy around VNC’s 50th anniversary, especially among a more difficult to reach Gen-Z audience.<\/p>\n

    This is not a traditional ‘coffee and admin’ internship. We want the internship to be a meaningful project with a visible impact and room for your own ideas and creativity. <\/p>\n

    Possible projects include:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Helping to position the VNC for the next generation,<\/li>\n
    • Creating and editing short video and podcast content for Website, LinkedIn, Instagram and WeChat, etc.,
      <\/li>\n
    • Helping to set up our anniversary campaign and events,<\/li>\n
    • Curate relevant China-related content and trends,<\/li>\n
    • Support follower growth and engagement from social media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


      <\/p>

      Depending on your interests and study requirements, the internship may also include:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Community building,<\/li>\n
      • Digital storytelling,<\/li>\n
      • AI-assisted content creation,<\/li>\n
      • or China-related media analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
         <\/div>\n

        Who are we looking for?<\/b><\/h3>\n

        A student who:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Studies, Communication, Marketing, Media, International Relations, China Studies or related fields (at HBO\/HEAO or university level),<\/li>\n
        • has a genuine interest in China and international developments,<\/li>\n
        • is creative, curious and proactive,<\/li>\n
        • has a proven understanding of social media and digital storytelling,<\/li>\n
        • has an affinity with video and visual content creation,<\/li>\n
        • can work independently,<\/li>\n
        • has strong Dutch and English language skills, both spoken and written,<\/li>\n
        • Chinese language skills are a plus, but not necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


          <\/p>

          Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is intellectually curious and enthusiastic about shaping meaningful conversations about China in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n
