Qi is everywhere. It is as essential to the body as blood and breathing\, in Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM). Qi manifests itself in tea and herbal mixtures\, in movement\, in acupuncture and Chinese massage\, and in breathing. The first documents Chinese writings relating to “Qi” date to 400 BC.  In the everyday practice of health\, physical exercises are based on understanding the concept of Qi. These exercises are highly effective in preventing and treating various diseases. This is called ‘Qi Gong\,’ which means ’the realization of Qi.’  In this meeting\, Drs. Mariska Stevens explains how Qi Gong relates to biomedical Western medicine. After the introduction\, she gives some movements so you can experience Qi Gong for yourself. The movements are not heavy and can also be performed while sitting down. You will also have the opportunity to taste Kung Fu tea\, including Wuyishan Rock Tea (a type of oolong tea).
