Ruud Peters (retired CEO of Philips Intellectual Properties and Standards) will provide answers to these questions and will share his experiences with setting up an IP organization for Philips in China. Jayachandran Suria, responsible for IP within Versuni will reflect on this from a practical perspective and will his lessons learned and best practices on IP in China.

About the speakers:
Ruud Peters was Chief Intellectual Property Officer and Executive Vice President of Royal Philips from 1999 till 2013, in which position he was responsible for managing the worldwide IP and standardization activities. He turned the IP organization from a cost center into a successful global profit and loss operation with full transparency of the return on IP investments at every business and product level in the company.
After his retirement, he established his own IP consultancy company advising large and small companies in a broad spectrum of IP matters. He is an (advisory) board member in a number of companies and institutes in Europe, USA, Israel, and China. He is Guest Professor at the School of Management of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. His contributions to the IP field have recognized with induction into the IP Hall of Fame in 2010 and an Outstanding Achievement Award for lifetime contributions to IP field from Managing Intellectual Property magazine in 2014. He was named by IAM Magazine as one of the top 300 IP strategists and one of the top 300 Global IP Leaders in 2023.
