Welkom bij het China Café!
Al sinds 2007 de plek waar professionals die dagelijks met China bezig zijn elkaar ontmoeten en kennis delen. De China Cafés zijn laagdrempelige, informele bijeenkomsten met accent op het zakenleven en toegankelijk voor iedereen. Elk China Café staat er weer een ander actueel thema centraal in een interview met experts vanaf de barkruk en verder volop gelegenheid om elkaar te spreken.
Het volgende China Café staat gepland op 8 juni 2026. Dit keer is het thema China’s op export gebaseerde groeimodel. We interviewen de alom bekende Heleen Mees, econoom, jurist en publicist. Het wordt weer een interessante en gezellige editie!

Report China Café in Utrecht, with Jean-Paul van Oudheusden about Investing in China
During the China Café on March 2 in Utrecht, a highly topical and widely discussed theme took center stage: investing in China. With warm wishes to the audience for the start of the new Year of the Fire Horse, the evening was opened, after which the discussion focused on the key question: does China currently offer growth opportunities for investors, or do the risks outweigh the potential rewards?
Lianne Baaij, sinologist and board member of the Netherlands-China Association (VNC), interviewed market analyst Jean-Paul Van Oudheusden, econometrician (graduated from Erasmus University in 1996) and founder of Markets are Everywhere. His fascination with markets beyond the traditional focus on Western giants formed the foundation of his company. According to him, many banks concentrated for years on well-known names such as Shell, while China remained underexposed. He wanted to change that: after all, markets are everywhere.
