What is the setup?
Usually we start around 5 p.m. at Stadsbrasserie De Utrechter. You will be welcomed by our volunteers at the registration table. Until about 6 p.m., you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the other China Café visitors who, like you, are interested in the evening’s theme and are active in China. Drinks are at your own expense. Around 6 p.m., one of our board members will interview an expert and/or an expert by experience on the topic. Language of communication will be English. The interview will be recorded for a podcast to be shared later. After the interview, there will be room for questions from attendees. After about 40 minutes, we will conclude the interview and you can chat for a while. We will then treat you to snacks. By 7 p.m., most will return home, carrying a new dose of knowledge and new contacts.
Who is it intended for?
In fact, everyone is welcome at the China Café, but because the topics have a business angle, we mostly meet professionals, entrepreneurs, government representatives, scientists and students, from both Dutch and Chinese backgrounds, usually split 50-50. The working language is English.
What does it cost?
Admission to the China Café costs €12.50 for non-members, €7.50 for members and €5 for students. Drinks are at your own expense.
