The VNC is an autonomous, independent Dutch organization that does not receive state and provincial subsidies and relies on generating its own income.
The organization is run by volunteers.
Everyone contributes to the mission unpaid.
The VNC has been able to sustain itself for nearly 50 years through member dues and organizing cultural economic activities. It remains exciting every year whether a balanced budget can be achieved or whether losses or intervening equity can be minimized.
The covid years have unfortunately hit hard and the board is eager to ensure the continuity of the VNC for the next generation as well. Help out; what can you do?

easiest thing you can do is become a member. Membership is a wonderful investment and support in thinking capital. With a membership fee of only €50 per year, you are a member of the VNC. We are open to anyone who cares about China, regardless of your age, ethnicity or nationality.
Membership covers one calendar year and automatically continues into the following year unless cancelled by December 15. On the membership page you will find more information about pro-rated annual dues and also student membership. Of course family membership at € 75 and corporate membership is also possible, but about that later.
As a member of the VNC you get free or discounted access to interesting VNC events such as the China Café in Utrecht, the Chinese New Year, advance notice of films, access to and borrow books from the VNC library, book reviews, cultural gatherings as well as member meetings. Furthermore, with the digital periodical ChinaNow+, news briefs and podcasts, you will always be kept up to date with current affairs. You are also welcome to participate in one of the committees that prepare the activities of the VNC.
VNC sponsorship and/or corporate membership is available starting at €500 per year.
When advertising, we will agree on the method of naming and advertising on our website and in ChinaNow+.
Sponsorship is broader and implies that during the year, by choice and in consultation with the organization or guests thereof, use can be made of the facilities offered by the VNC such as participation in events in combination with placement of a banner and media mention of the name/logo of the company or organization at the expressions of the VNC.
It is also possible to organize special networking meetings, advertorials, presentations and meet, invite or host delegations by further arrangement.
Taking advantage of opportunities to build “awareness” is very important and shows commitment to the VNC events. The VNC will be happy to assist in raising the profile of the company/organization with the Chinese and Dutch governments and business community.
