5th Chinese Mental Health Day in the Netherlands

The Foundation for Intercultural Participation of Chinese Families (IPCF) will host the 5th Chinese Mental Health Day in the Netherlands in Hoofddorp on Saturday, 26 September 2026.
In its fifth edition, this annual initiative has become a vital local meeting point where Chinese-speaking residents can access professional knowledge, exchange experiences, and strengthen community ties.
What is the mission behind Chinese Mental Health Day?
IPCF is a Netherlands-based non-profit organization supporting Chinese children, young people, and families as they participate in Dutch society while maintaining a living connection to their Chinese cultural identity.
Chinese Mental Health Day opens a safe space for conversations that can be difficult to start across languages, generations, and cultural expectations—highlighting the care, expertise, and civic energy within the community.
Which workshops can you attend?
This year features six longer, three-hour sessions designed to let participants engage deeply with each theme at a meaningful pace:
• The Art of Being (Part 1): A body-and-voice workshop led by Dr. Fang Man.
• The Art of Being (Part 2): The second part of the body-and-voice workshop led by Dr. Fang Man.
• Cross-Cultural Belonging Exploration: A workshop on navigating identity and sense of belonging across cultures, led by Yue Ye.
• Anxiety Relief: Practical tools for managing stress and anxiety, led by Yue Ye.
• The Flow of Life: An expressive art-healing workshop led by Huang Xiaoling.
• Communicating with Adolescents (Free Session): A practical guide for parents led by child and adolescent psychologist Shen Jinfeng.
What makes this event unique?
• Cross-European Expertise: Combines insights from the Netherlands and across Europe in counselling, psychotherapy, child education, and art.
• A Shared Approach to Care: Rather than viewing mental health as an isolated personal challenge, it offers a respectful setting for reflection, learning, and exchange.
• Deepening Connections: Serves as a locally rooted act of care that connects Chinese families with each other, Dutch society, and a broader network of European practitioners.
