During this lecture, Monique Groeneveld will take us on a virtual journey and visit a selection of the most impressive and iconic places, which together reflect the rich history and enchanting culture of China.
We start at the mausoleum of the first emperor, with the world-famous terracotta army in Xi’an. Next, we will admire the imperial palaces and the Great Wall in Beijing, after which we will continue our trek past ancient cities, Buddhist caves and picturesque villages.
In addition, we will reflect on the intangible heritage, such as traditional holidays, including the Chinese New Year.
