Our VNC Chair Monique Knapen-Seijkens had a first introductory meeting with the new Chinese ambassador to the Netherlands, Shen Bo, on February 4. During this meeting, they discussed upcoming activities of the Netherlands-China Association and underlined the importance of meeting, exchanging knowledge and open dialogue between the Netherlands and China — especially at a time when mutual understanding and contact remain of great value.
For the experienced diplomat Shen Bo, the Netherlands is his first post as ambassador, a special moment in his career. We wish him every success in his new role and hope that he can do a lot to further warm up and strengthen the relationship between the Netherlands and China. His timing is good, now that the Netherlands is also expected to have a new cabinet soon.
We look forward to welcoming him to the Spring Festival, where he will have the opportunity to get to know our members and the broad network of the VNC.
