De Glasbak hosts an afternoon of Chinese music and dance Saturday afternoon, March 4, organized by the Netherlands China Association (VNC) and Almere’s Limin Sichi Yang.
Limin is a professional singer with Chinese and Dutch vocal training at the conservatory in The Hague and elsewhere. She has a musical school in Shanghai, but is also active in Almere. For example, from March 1 to 4, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., she will give a Song and Dance Spring Camp where children will learn Chinese song and dance. On March 4 there will be a presentation of the children participating in the course. Limin will also be interviewed by Monique Knapen who is president of the VNC, an independent association that aims to give the insight into Chinese culture in the Netherlands. “We will talk about Chinese music, Chinese dance and we will also perform and show it,” Limin said.
The one-hour program is open to anyone who wants to understand a little more about Chinese music and culture. Tickets cost 10 euros for non-VNC members, children free. Room open at 14:00, program starts at 14:15 in De Glasbak on Lierstraat in Muziekwijk. You can sign up at: info@vnc-china.nl
