In a quiet residential area under the smoke of the PSV stadium in Eindhoven we find restaurant Yunnan Food where we can enjoy the food from southwest China. Yunnan is a province in the southwest of China, with an area of 394,000 km2 (about 10 times the size of the Netherlands) and a population of about 47-48 million.

In addition to Han Chinese, many minorities such as the Dai, the Yi, the Bai, the Hani, the Zhuang and the Miao live in the province of Yunnan. They all have their own culture, clothing and eating habits. This large collection of dishes is referred to as ‘the cuisine of Yunnan’. Many people have the misunderstanding that all dishes of Yunnan are hot (= spicy), but that is not the case. There are plenty of dishes that do not have that predicate.

In Eindhoven we will taste what a selection of dishes from that region taste like. Your host wants to reveal that the noodle soup at restaurant Yunnan Food tastes delicious.

Your host Mr. OEY Then Ping will again bring some Chinese cultural objects to tell about them.
