Established in 1993, the “Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) ” is recognized by IFFPA (International Federation of Film Producers Associations) as the first and only international non-specialized competitive film festival in China. IFFPA has officially recognized 15 festivals around the world, including Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Shanghai.
The SIFF organizes international film screenings in Shanghai and many other Chinese cities as well as a dozen other countries
The screening of two short films on Nov. 11 will take place on the occasion of the SIFFF management team’s visit to the Netherlands.
It is intended as a warm-up for next year’s Chinese Film Festival in the Netherlands in which 6-8 Chinese feature films with directors and actors will come to the Netherlands.
This activity fits within the activities of the VNC in which cultural events contribute to the promotion of contacts both cultural and economic between the Netherlands and China.
The festival in 2020 will be open to the public but exclusive (corporate) performances can also be organized where the venue is bought out. Through the VNC, the (Chinese) network can be approached for marketing and invitations or exclusive performances for groups and/or companies.
