The new year is approaching: The Year of the Rabbit. May the coming year be a year of prosperity and peace for all. Meanwhile, I have been chairman of the VNC for two months and am busy. On November 3, we organized a Chinese master class during the Investors Day in Amsterdam and we are now busy organizing the annual Chinese New Year in The Hague and a screening of Kong Fu Lion – the first result of the Sino-Ned co film production treaty. The film will premiere at the festival in Berlin, but Froukje Tan – the film’s director is granting us a preview! Come and watch it all! What our association aims at; facilitating dialogue between the Netherlands and China seems more important than ever. The geopolitical situation leads to much uncertainty and there are many big differences between our countries, but there is also much that binds us. We are all citizens and we think it is important to stay in conversation with each other especially now. Hopefully we can contribute to that dialogue with our magazine and our activities. So may I ask you to support us (again)? Your
contribution is essential. As you know, we are a non for profit organization and receive no government support. If you have any ideas for our meetings, please let us know. We aim to host a quarterly event, preferably spread across the country. Events can be social, cultural and economic in nature, we try to be distinctive in this and where possible we connect with existing organizations to increase our impact.
